The basis of Institute activity is composed of fundamental researches, directed at studying of pathogenetic mechanisms of pathological state formation, general and specific effects of physiologically active compounds on various organization levels of living matter – molecular, tissue, and also organ and whole organism. One of the institute work directions – participation in development and examination of state scientific programs of medical drugs creation, normative documents and legislative acts, regarding development and production of medical drugs.
The institute had created a regulatory framework regarding pre-clinical study procedure, examination and registration of medical compounds in Ukraine, and developed methodical documentation on drug pre-clinical studies.
